30. Being AB-positive at Claudio’s!

Da Claudio... An AB+ place to be!

My blood type is AB+! An extremely important bit of information that I have decided to exclusively share with you. I see you look puzzled while trying to understand how my blood can be relevant for my “How to become a Milanese” project but it actually is! Or don’t you want to know who is Milano’s famous Claudio and why I went to visit him today?
Okay, let me explain. Both my mother’s dietician and the osteopath who enabled me to move again after I had hurt my back insist on the fact that it’s of fundamental importance to know your blood type if you want to feel healthy. Apparently there isn’t something like a universal healty diet. Instead, people should consider the specific alimentary needs of their specific blood type. I agree that it all sounds quite strange and obscure but my mother actually lost weight and I can’t deny that my back doesn’t hurt anymore, so why wouldn’t I take a look at this whole blood type theory? So I did and what did I learn? That my meat, corn and kidney bean days are over and that a smart AB+ girl like me goes for tons and tons of seafood and fish!

So this morning I shared my amazing discovery with my dear friend Caterina and she immediately came up with a great idea that fitted perfectly in my Milano-discovery-plans! “Why don’t we go and have lunch at Da Claudio, the most famous fish store of Milan? For only 15 euro they don’t only give you a plate full with delicious marinated raw fish but also a glas of ice cold Prosecco!” Great plans should be executed right away and so at 1 o’clock this afternoon, Caterina and I were feasting on a delectable selection of fish with pistacchio nuts and cracking fresh pink shrimp. All of this in the exclusive décor of one of the oldest shops of Milan AND with a view on the colourful and amusing folks of the posh Brera quarter. What could a person possibly want more?

I’m not sure whether it was my blood or the twinkling glas of bubbles, but after today’s lunch I felt better than ever!

I can't be entirely sure but according to her big smile, I'm suspecting Caterina to be an AB+ herself!
Is your blood type AB+ and would you fancy some fish shot at Claudio’s yourself? Why not go and have a look at http://www.expedia.nl/goedkope-vakantie and book yourself some nice little Milano weekend?
PS: Milano has lots of nice places for other blood types too J

  2. You're lucky, Doug! You can go to Claudio's too! Look what I found on O-people:

    Foods for Type O?

Choose: Lean beef, chicken, fish, turkey, vegetables, and fruit.

Limit: dairy, grains, legumes, and beans.

Some specific foods to avoid: avocado, brazil nuts, oranges, cauliflower, mustard greens, cabbage, brussels sprouts, pork, goose, poppy seeds, eggplant, corn, melons, coconut, coffee, beer, black tea, ketchup, vinegar, milk, yogurt.

The bad news is that you should stay away of cheese... De Riccardis will be so disappointed! :-)

  3. Okay, I can eliminate about half the foods in the world from my diet so that I won't get back pain and will lose weight, but avoid pork...I mean PORK!...that is just not going to happen! Oh, and yes cheese, of course with its aroma of white pepper, rendered butter and cow shed...
